The brief

B&B Het Spechtennest ran on WordPress plus Elementor Pro on Combell. The site worked, but hosting and plugin maintenance was an annual cost. The wellness offering was being removed (sauna and jacuzzi gone), which required a substantial content cleanup.

How it was built

Froze the WordPress site as the source of truth. Exported 154 pages statically to Cloudflare Pages. Removed wellness pages and photos. Updated room and gite pricing. The same working relationship has continued since the original site build in 2021.

The finished experience

Live on hetspechtennest.be via Cloudflare Pages. Hosting cost dropped to near zero. The client no longer needs WordPress plugin updates. Content stays editable via the preserved WordPress export flow.

The public site is served as static pages, so visitors do not depend on a running WordPress installation. The original site remains the source for future content exports.
