Google guidance, rules and limits

Google title link guidance, checked 30 October 2026: “While there's no limit on how long a <title> element can be, the title link is truncated in Google Search results as needed, typically to fit the device width.”

Google snippet guidance, checked 30 October 2026: “There's no limit on how long a meta description can be, but the snippet is truncated in Google Search results as needed, typically to fit the device width.”

  • There is no fixed character limit claim. Google may rewrite the title link or snippet, and display varies by device and query.
  • The live SERP measurement stopped at a CAPTCHA. No truncation verdict or Google preview width is included.
  • Pixel widths are measured locally with your browser's Thai fallback font. They are not a prediction of another device's rendering.

Every rule the checker uses

  1. DLVX Unicode check: write sara am as U+0E33, not U+0E4D followed by U+0E32.
  2. DLVX text check: remove zero width characters, byte order marks and soft hyphens from search copy.
  3. DLVX editorial check: remove leading, trailing and repeated spaces.
  4. Google title link guidance: Google tries to match the page's primary language and writing system, and may rewrite a mismatched title link.
  5. Google says to avoid keyword stuffing. Three repetitions is a DLVX review threshold, not a Google number.
  6. Google snippet guidance: Google may create a snippet from page content when no meta description is available.

Google also advises against keyword stuffing. It tries to show a title link that matches the page's primary language and writing system, and may generate a different title link after detecting a mismatch.
