Selling with LINE: MyShop fees, and how to work out your net per order

Updated

LINE's MyShop page says opening a store is free and shows a commission starting at 3 percent plus a 3 percent payment fee on several methods, but it does not say how they combine. Work out your net per order under both readings and confirm with LINE before you sell.

Written for: You sell online in Thailand, you already chat with buyers on LINE, and you want to know what MyShop will take from each order before you move your shop onto it.

What the MyShop page says

MyShop facts from LINE for Business Thailand, read 4 November 2026

Two things do not line up on that page. The headline says commission starts at 3 percent, while the payment section lists a flat 3 percent. And mobile banking is listed at 3 percent, while bank transfer is listed as free. Until LINE clarifies, treat both readings as possible.

Worked example: net per order under both readings

A 500 baht order, 200 orders a month, 3% used as an illustration

  • Reading A, only one 3% fee applies: 500 x 3% = 15 baht. You receive 485 baht. Over 200 orders the fees are 15 x 200 = 3,000 baht.
  • Reading B, a 3% commission and a 3% payment fee both apply: 500 x 6% = 30 baht. You receive 470 baht. Over 200 orders the fees are 30 x 200 = 6,000 baht.
  • The gap between the readings: 3,000 baht a month, or 36,000 baht a year.
  • Net per order is still before your product cost, packaging, courier and any VAT, because the page does not say whether its numbers include VAT.
  • Compare this with the plan fee: Basic is 1,280 baht before VAT. At 200 orders, MyShop fees are 2 to 5 times that, so the fee question matters more than the plan question.
  • The 3% in this example comes from the page text. It is an illustration, not a quote. Use LINE's confirmed rate for your own numbers.

Questions to ask LINE before you sell

  1. Do commission and payment fees stack?

Ask for an example order in writing.

  2. Do the percentages include VAT?

    The page does not say.

  3. What does a new store get in the first month?

Ask what 0% covers and for how many orders.

  4. Which payment methods do my buyers use?

Look at your last 30 orders and ask LINE what each method costs.

  5. What do I pay on cash on delivery returns?

Courier cost is yours. Ask whether a fee applies.

If you keep selling through chat and bank transfer today, MyShop is not automatically better. Compare your current cost, which is your time, with its fees.
